not understanding and confusion are different

Not understanding is part of faith and faith is beyond what we can understand or see.

Confusion is from the enemy and can drive us insane.

Not understanding gives us the opportunity to surrender.

Confusion creates opportunity to overthink and become disabled to do anything.

Like most things, the devil can slightly twist something acceptable into something tormenting and not okay…

Feed on Truth (God, His Word, His promises, etc) so that lies are caught and captured.

God is not a God of confusion but of peace. And we can still have His peace when we have no understanding of anything that we are going through.

mystery is different to confusion

As a Christian- believer in Jesus Christ- I need to understand that my understanding is limited. I can’t understand the ways of God as His ways are far above and beyond what I could ever comprehend. However, I believe that He is a God who speaks and communicates with anyone who has time to listen and ears to hear. (And to be honest, I believe He is speaking whether we are listening or not. He is amazingly “un-hidden”)

But we all have times in our lives where we feel like we have absolutely nooo idea what the heck is going on and even if we’re still on path. Sometimes it can seem as though we feel so lost that we wonder if we are, in actual fact, lost! However, God is not religious. He is not bound and contained in/by our understanding. He is not limited to the paths that we know about; He knows paths that we have no idea about- ones that have never been walked before- by anyone ever! He is the God of adventure! He has new paths to take each and every one of us. This is why comparison and competition need have no part in our lives. We all have our own adventure that will be unique yet complimentary to each other.

To keep in the mystery instead of confusion, let us just simply love God. He is a God of order not confusion. Just because it doesn’t look like what we would expect, it doesn’t mean that it is out of order. It just may be out of our order. Confusion is from the camp of the enemy. Chaos is from the camp of the enemy. These are not attributes of our God. He is our Leader and Instructor and He knows what He’s doing. Let us trust Him. This is hard in practice as we are all at different parts on the scale of being control freaks(!), but it is possible by the discipline of our minds- to align our trust in God over our need to have things worked out. God will communicate what we need to know. He is not into head-messing with us. He doesn’t withhold information or direction to make us crazy and see us spin out in craziness. He wants us to be free. We are His kids. He is fully invested in us and is into every detail that concerns us.

Let us do what we can do- adjust our lifestyles, mindsets, attitudes etc- and leave Him to do what He can do.. work the impossibilities out through our lives.

the disappointment during the process of prophecy fulfilled

Today is the Saturday in-between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, and I can’t help but think how this in-between stage of Jesus dying and raising again from the dead is a point of deep sadness and confusion.. Followers of Jesus had been taught and come to revelation that He is the Christ and Son of God, and then “can’t even save Himself” as He hangs to die like a criminal.

Imagine being around at that time and not having the next chapters to read straight away to miss out the process of being part of that confused pain…

Doesn’t it sometimes feel like this during the process of prophecy being fulfilled?

Let us hold on to the hope and the Word of God that never fails. Even when it looks like the very Word of God has died, He is able to bring resurrection life, bringing the authority over life and death.

Jesus, please help us to know that You do not promise what You aren’t going to bring to completion. Help us to trust in You even when we are in the middle part of the prophecy and feeling a dark depth of despair and confusion. And then help us not to be so grieved that we can’t recognise You when you come alongside us to walk us into awareness of Your deeper plan and purposes.

Thank you for everything You are.
